About Us

In Loving Memory of

Late. Sri Chikka Karunakar Garu

Founder & Visionary | 1970–2025

The heart and soul of Chikkas Banjara Crafts will always be our founder. He dedicated his entire life to the textile industry, beginning his journey at the young age of 15. With decades of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of traditional craftsmanship, he laid the foundation for our organization with hard work, discipline, and vision.

He strongly believed in women empowerment and artisan development, providing opportunities, training, and support to many women artisans throughout his life. His leadership, values, and commitment continue to guide Chikkas Banjara Crafts today, and his legacy lives on through the work we do every day.

Our Story

Chikkas Banjara Crafts was founded in 2009 by Late Chikka Karunakar, a visionary artisan dedicated to preserving the tribal art of Banjara embroidery. What began as a small workshop has grown into a family-led brand that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design appeal.

Now managed by Chikka Kavitha and Chikka Venu Gopal, we proudly continue the founder's legacy, empowering rural artisans and keeping India's rich heritage alive.
